Moving on. I'm going to be extremely busy for the next couple of weeks so more than likely I won't be able to update as much..well I barely do that now.

Anyway, Sean is the hardest working man in the Lupe business. I say that to say this I'm in the process of helping to open 5 stores by the 29th. Its really not as great as it sounds [thats me not going into detail again] but while Im doing this you can all get your Lupe fix from him.

Most of you drift from there to here anyway. I will be consistant when I get a consistant schedule. But yeah, appreciate Sean. He's great and I'm tired.

I agree with you on the whole fuck Prodigy thing. I am going to address this once and move on because thats just what I wanna do.

Okay so who listens to Lupe? Well I'm guessing that maybe at least nearly 400,000 people listen to Lupe. Thats just those that I know of. I mean you could always count in those people who were at the sold out shows of his. When's the last time you had a sold out tour? Not a show a TOUR! What about a Grammy? Oh, I didn't think so.

I'm not doing this just in defense of Lu. I'm doing this because he's hating on Cass and Little Brother...lol, ok that's not why either. I'm doing this because I'm gonna need Prodigy to find a different way to remain relevant while he's in jail. NOBODY VALUES YOUR OPINION. You know what the funniest part is? Everybody you named actually does have a pretty decent fan base. I mean I dont even like Fat Joe but I have to defend him in this too because we have to diagnose this situation correctly and put an end this common problem. No not bitchassness. This is clearly just a case of old fashioned hating and marketing. Dumb marketing. All those people have fans now and you don't. No one loves you anymore and you're mad but it will be okay.

Maybe Nas, Cass, Little Brother or maybe even Lu or Buddens will let you get on a song with them when you get out. I mean because you're gonna need somebody who's still relevant to help you get back on.

The movement is catching speed..

Okay, we all know I don't watch television [well I do, just not music countdown shows] as much as I should so I also didn't know until today that Lupe was still on 106 and #2 at that.

But that my friends is not why I believe the Lupe Fiasco movement is catching on.

I actually got my little [15 year old] brother, who insists on listening to nothing but Lil Wayne, to listen to Lupe the other day. To add to that...it was Dumb It Down! He used to tell me 'turn that mess down/off' when I played Lupe through the house. Then again I would play it all day. That's besides the point though. I got a 15 year old who grew up on mostly bullshit rap to show intrest in and actually like one of the most complicated rap songs ever made.

I had to first tell him the 'my mind's on cloud 9 and in her mind at the same time' line was about head before he would listen to the rest but you gotta do what you gotta do. That is signifcant progress in my eyes and the ends justify the means.

One more thing, my internet down until further notice [damn Verizon]. I just did all this from the Sprint and there are too many updates for me to type out from my cell. So do yourself a favor and check out the FNF blog ring to your right.

One persons opinion:

"Lupe..a nerd in high school, likes a girl. shes in the popular crowd..goes up to her one day and "just get up and say hi"

and he tells her about himself...he then compares their interest in music..."oh you like linkin park, thats the hat from the tour" so they both have the interest in music...

then after he says allll of that...he feels stupid..."then i walk away" and he regrets doin it...but then the girl comes back and is like JO! youse a cutey! and she tells him about herself...and happily ever after...this is the only litteraly lryical song lupe has hahhaa...everything else is all metaphors that i neverrrrr get till i have to read about."

"Actually k. west I think that this song is actually a metaphor and is not straightforward as it seems. I think that the "girl" in this case is hip-hop.

I think the first part is about how he approached hip-hop (the girl) and was initially attracted to it but "wasn't well suited for it" becuase he was kind of a nerd and wasn't into the vulgarity that came along with hip hop.

"And then I walked away, thinkin she would never talk to me"- After initially being turned off by hip-hop he quit rapping, thinking it wasn't for him.

"Then I felt a hand on my shoulder. Lupe Fiasco Presents...The Art Of Distraction

Hello again…

As I type this I’m on the road heading to Boston or someplace to promote the album…I got my MacBook Pro in my lap and I’m bumping Daft Punk in the headphones…The van is fulla bags ’cause I have to carry three times the amount of luggage of a normal person…Here’s the breakdown…

Add in another bag with just sneakers and the bags of my entourage and you can pretty much see the picture…”Robot Rock,” by the way…

For this entry I wanted to let ya’ll in on a little secret…I’m here to distract you…yup yup that’s right…me and all my fellow brothers and sisters in the wonderful world of entertainment are merely distractions to keep you from focusing on what’s really goin on in the world around you…Spooky ain’t it?

Now, this aint a grand conspiracy to trap your mind and transform you into mindless uniformed cogs in the machine…Or is it? Some distraction is necessary and even therapeutic…”HEY look a flying saucer!!!” and as you look up, I pull the splinter out of your finger or something…or other methods to draw attention away from the pain so the problem can be fixed…sorry kinda rambling…

anyway, the point is, music, movies and TV are mediums of distraction used to kinda numb the pain, which in cases where the message within the distraction is one of an informative and positive uplifting nature it can be very good thing. The danger lies where the message in the distraction is one of destruction and cannonfodder. These distractions are the ones that flood media today and really nothing meaningful is extracted from these…and believe you me that the distribution of this kind of information is done very deliberatly by the powers that be…the goal of this society is not to uplift and meaningfully inform, because that is not its nature…

The nature of this society is to gain capital and maintain an unfair balance of power that resides in the hands of the producers…Consumers are meant to do just that: consume…To inform the consumer in a meaningful manner means to empower him and give him aspirations to become a producer…The producers know that this is a threat to to their position of power. If consumers all of a sudden start wanting to become producers themselves and become aware of the tools to do so, it upsets the balance and starts making things fair and harder to gain capital because people would just consume the goods they produce themselves…which goes against the nature of the society…

So to maintain society, the consumers are kept dumb…and not just on a level of intelligence, because truthfully the consumers are either on the same level or even smarter than the producers…the consumers are kept dumb on all levels from the knowledge of opportunity to how to grow food to the operation of a sewing machine…Ask yourself, did you create any of the items in the room you are sitting in right now?…Secondly, do you know where they came from?…The raw materials used to make them?…Their origins?…The process that renders the raw materials into usuable materials?…Can you produce any of the food in your refridgerator?…If u can’t (and trust me, I can’t either) I think you pretty much know where you stand…and I don’t think 98% of the magazines or newspapers or CDs or movies or television programs are going to teach us how…

I mean, who owns the companies that distribute these things???…I bet you know the correct operation of a semi-automatic firearm and the ingredients and cooking instructions to make freebase cocaine and the proper technique of felatio and the winner of the last NBA championship and how Paris Hilton looks naked and that Christopher Columbus discovered America and how much a Maybach costs and…Hey, me too!
